Hello World – A flower in the virtual world
Wikipedia defines the phrase ‘Hello World’ as “a computer program that outputs ‘Hello, world’ on a display device.” Well, IMO that is plain rude. For a programmer, ‘Hello World’ is a phrase that brings a rare smile on his(/her) nerdy face, a little reward for his nocturnal stupors at the screen with fingers dancing on the keyboard. ‘Hello World’ is as close to the cry of a newborn baby as a machine can get. It brings a hope of happiness, a streak of success. For me, it has become a goodluck charm.
So, naturally, that’s my first blog post. Hello World!
